Our Story

About Us

Like any good love story, you need three elements for a captivating story; Firstly, the leading lady, in this case, Fabiana, born in Brazil in the mountainous city of Belo Horizonte as a second child to her parents Toninho and Neuzete. Living most of her life in the same address until she moved to Europe, she has a vast circle of trusted friends. Fabiana loves dancing, having good time with friends and family, is a hard worker and always fight for her dreams to come true.
Secondly, you need the leading man for the story Juho, first son of Matti and Marja. The big difference between our characters is that Juho has lived in more places that he has fingers and toes, giving this character a certain enigma about him: “who” is this dashing handsome tall man from Finland who speaks fluently French and English and who is like a fish in a water when it comes to deal with people. Clearly, these two lived very different lives from far, far away from each other.

Thirdly, you need the meet-cute. The meet-cute in a romantic movie is the moment where two people meet for the first time. In our story this is in Lausanne, Switzerland, more precisely in the IMD’s auditorium , 2018, January 8th. Before this date, the two characters lived their life without knowing each other’s existence but that changed in that room and during the year.

Multitude of different encounters happened between these two during the first few months of the year. The friendship started when one weekend in April, Juho was looking for friends to go hiking. He found out via his roommate that Fabiana (Fabi - as everyone else calls her) was going hiking with other friends, who suggested to reach out to her. Not one to shy away from female beauty, Juho messaged Fabiana and next morning he joined the group for the adventure (the first picture of the couple was taken during this little trip). In May, as part of class excursion trip to Liechtenstein Fabiana and Juho where in the same car with few classmates Adriano (future bridesmaid), Pierre and Ana. On the drive back to Lausanne on Friday evening Fabiana used the excuse that she doesn’t feel good sitting in the back to be able to sit next to the man she started to like. Little did she know that together they would drive thousands of kilometers and thousands more are yet to come. In the same year, June 24th in Singapore, is when and where the love story became real and the first kiss happened! Soon after, Juho asked Fabiana how many kids she wanted (according to him, the idea was to test Fabiana’s sense of humor and if indeed she wanted kids, but actually he was already in love).

Fast forward to today, the adventure of the two main characters goes on in Switzerland, with thousands of kilometers driven together all around the world, sharing common passions and hobbies such as travels, movies, food, cars, and spending time with each other’s families. The question if Fabiana likes kids was answered last year, when the couple got their first son, Matheo Louis, who enjoys the undivided love and attention from Fabiana and Juho. Since being with Juho, Fabiana has moved more times than fingers she can count.

Love story in making continues…… and the couple is looking forward for your presence to celebrate their love ❤️

Belo Horizonte

Founded during the 19th Century, former mining city Belo Horizonte has grown to become a metropolitan area with 4 million people one of Brazil’s largest. The capital of the Minas Gerais region is an economic and cultural center with many green areas, and the UN has placed it as the city with the highest standard of living in Latin America.

Belo Horizonte it is a mixture of urban and at the same time bucolic capital. With several historical attractions, such as buildings, monuments and museums, the capital of Minas Gerais also proves to be one of the most bohemian places in Brazil, with a lively and fun night in several bars. With many options for outdoor activities, beautiful architectural complexes to admire, excellent cuisine and hospitable and friendly people, there is a lot to discover on a trip to the destination.

- Praça do papa

Famous for its magnificent panoramas of Belo Horizonte’s cityscape and encompassing mountains. The circular-shaped square has two levels, both of which feature paved, grass and tree-shaded areas. It is a favorite hangout among locals, who come to escape the downtown bustle and breathe in the fresh mountain air. Children can often be seen playing games on the lawns and street vendors offer drinks, snacks and fresh coconuts.

- Mercado central

With more than 90 years, the traditional Central Market of Belo Horizonte is an unmissable tour. There are more than 400 stores that offer numerous traditions and specialties from Minas Gerais. Cheese, sweets, handicrafts, drinks and other regional products are widely offered: it is impossible to leave without taking something home

- Mercado novo

Mercado Novo is an authentic space. No one would have imagined that the building designed in 1960 to be Belo Horizonte's new municipal market would turn into a multicultural space, which unites gastronomy, culture, music, fashion and urbanism, to receive thousands of visitors from the most varied "tribes". From people who just want to enjoy a sound and meet friends to those who are looking for the experience of the night in the city. It is a space that celebrates the urban life of the city without losing sight of the traditional. With bars and restaurants offering a modern look to typical foods and snacks, Mercado Novo has been gaining ground in the city's alternative scene.

- Praça da liberdade

Praça da Liberdade is not just a symbol of Belo Horizonte, it was also extremely important for the city's past, as it was the site of the sumptuous former seat of the Government of Minas Gerais. Currently, its architectural ensemble brings together old buildings, fountains and beautiful gardens. In addition, some important museums and cultural centers are also located there, such as the CCBB, the UFMG Knowledge Space, among others.

- Pampulha

One of the symbols of Belo Horizonte, the Pampulha Lagoon is part of the architectural complex designed by Oscar Niemeyer in the city. An essential point to visit in the capital of Minas Gerais, the lagoon is 18 kilometers long and is widely used by residents for hiking, cycling and other outdoor activities.

Inhotim

Institut Inhotim is home to a museological complex featuring a series of pavilions and galleries with works of art and sculptures on display in the open air, and the only Brazilian Institute institution with a world-class collection of contemporary art continuously on display.

Since the outset, Inhotim rise on the scene of the Brazilian cultural institutions has been marked by the mission to create an artistic collection and to define new museological strategies that provide the community with access to cultural assets. In this sense, it seeks to bring the public into contact with a relevant set of artworks, produced by artists from different parts of the world, providing an up-to-date reflection on the questions of contemporaneity.
